Balgove Golf Course
Balgove Course is a nine-hole links course primarily catering for families, children and beginners. It features bunkers and double greens and perfectly positions St Andrews Link courses as catering for all ages and abilities. Therefore, it’s a great course for kids or a 3-club challenge to settle bets amongst friends.
The Balgove Golf Course is 1520 yards, par 30 and it’s the only course which you cannot book. Therefore, you can simply turn up on the day and play. You can download a scorecard from their website. Built in 1972 and repurposed in 1993, it was opened by the members of the St Andrews Children’s Golf Club. Worth noting is that in the school summer holidays, adults can only play the course if accompanied by a child.
Course Facilities
The clubhouse that accompanies the Balgove Golf Course is The Eden Clubhouse which caters to the Eden, Strathtyrum and Balgove Courses. The Balgove is also close to the New Course Hotel, which services drinks. At theEden Clubhouse, it is a perfect venue for a relaxed family lunch or some fresh home baking. In addition, it also includes a putting area, showers, lockers and a young golfers room. Finally, there is also free parking.
The clubhouse opens at 6.30 am till 9.30 pm. The lounge opens at 7.30 am, and at 8.30 pm, the kitchen shuts. There are golf and trolley hire facilities and buggies for senior citizens or medical certificates.
