Craigtoun Country Park is a great day out for all the family with 40 acres of well-maintained grounds to explore. There are a number of free facilities to enjoy all year round, as well as additional seasonal attractions.
The Friends of Craigtoun took over the running of this popular local attraction in 2012 and have worked with Fife Council to keep the park open and running. This collaboration has led to a string of improvements that have seen Craigtoun Country Park become a more accessible and welcoming venue and it even boasts its own state-of-the-art Changing Places facility.
There are some parts of the park that are open and accessible all year round and free to use. These include an adventure playground, all-inclusive play area, zip wire, trim trail, trampolines and the magical Fairy Glen.
From Easter to October the park runs 9 Seasonal Attractions for which tickets are required: the Rio Grande Miniature Railway, the Puffin’ Billy Land Train, Boating, Crazy Golf, Park Golf, Go-karts, Pedal Cars, Bouncy Castles and Touch Tennis.
The park grounds are open all day, every day. This includes access to the gardens and the free facilities.
Admission and parking are free of charge and you only pay for the Seasonal Attractions if you wish to use them. There is a range of ticket options, but single rides cost £2.50 and children under the age of 3 always ride for free.
The Craigtoun Cafe is open daily throughout the year and serves a selection of hot and cold food, cakes and traybakes, teas and coffees and, of course, ice cream. For those who prefer to bring their own food, there are numerous picnic benches in the park and also a designated area with stands for disposable barbecues.
Dogs are welcome in the park and also permitted inside the Craigtoun Café – it is only asked that you clean up after them and keep them under control, especially near the play areas.
