Hazelbank was built in 1898 as a townhouse for a tea planter retiring from his tea garden in India and became a small hotel in 1902. All of the original decorative plasterwork and the impressive timber staircase have been retained, showing off the best of the buildings Victorian Heritage.
The building has been extensively refurbished over the last few years and offers 10 warm, non-smoking, comfortable and richly decorated bedrooms all with full modern en-suite bathrooms.
4 of our 10 bedrooms have fantastic views accross St Andrews Bay to the North Sea, Angus Coast and hills beyond and to the St Andrews Golf Courses. Breakfast is served in our Dining Room and we are only steps away from a fine selection of bars and restaurants.
Hazelbank is only 200 yards from the 1st tee and R&A clubhouse on the Old Course and only 800 yards from the New and Jubilee Course and St Andrews Links Clubhouse. The free St Andrews Links shuttle bus stops outside our door to take you to the Practice Centre, Driving Range and Eden Course. The main historic sites of St Andrews and town centre are only 5 minutes away with the University Admissions Office, Library and Arts Faculty Building only 100 yards from us.
Most Halls of Residence and Faculty Buildings are within easy walking distance with the furthest being 17 minutes walk.
Hazelbank is the destination of choice for many parents visiting sons and daughters at University due to our splendid central and scenic location.
We are a very popular first or last night stop on the 2 bridges coastal walk which runs directly past Hazelbank.
We have extensive - 32 years- experience of arranging golf for our guests both in St. Andrews and the surrounding area and would be happy to advise on booking tee times and are happy to offer suitable itineraries for golf breaks during Winter and Summer including Old Course.
