Scotlands Festival of Museums - Fri 19 to Sun 21 May

Festival of Museums is Flourishing in Fife

This year, Scotland's museums and galleries have their biggest calendar of events ever planned for the Festival of Museums weekend from Friday 19 - Sunday 21 May.

Numerous museums across the region are taking part but if you're in and around St Andrews or the East Neuk here are some special events you won't want to miss...

St Andrews Preservation Trust Museum.

'Our Victorian Childhood!' takes place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 20th May where visitors will be able to take part in drop-in activities and learn about childhood in Victorian times. Children and adults alike will be able to interact with our Victorian workers who will let you know about their trade. Visitors can also hear fantastic stories from our governess, create keepsakes, play with some Victorian toys and experience an exhibition on the lives of children in St Andrews through the Victorian age.

Entry is free.

British Golf Museum

On Friday 19th May visitors will be able to interact with a character from golf's history who has found themselves in the Museum galleries in the modern era. Listen to their stories and help find their lost objects; appearances at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm.

To help launch our Instagram page (@britgolfmuseum), we will be hosting an Instameet on Saturday 20th May from 10am – 4pm. We encourage all fans of photography and filters to gather on our museum roof before exploring the building and posting pictures using the tag #instameetbgm.

Alongside our regular children's trail, we will also have kids crafts available in the galleries on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st.

The British Golf Museum is celebrating Festival of Museums weekend with free entry to all visitors.
