MacDonald Rusacks GM appointed as new head of Hotel & Guest House Association
The St Andrews Hotel and Guest House Association (Stayinstandrews) has announced the appointment of Kristian Campbell as President of the association. Campbell - who is General Manager of the St Andrews MacDonald Rusacks Hotel - officially took over the role from outgoing President Ray Pead at the association's AGM held on Wednesday 20th September 2017.
Commenting on his appointment, Campbell said: "I'm very much looking forward to my two year tenure as head of the association and I hope to maintain the momentum of promoting St. Andrews as a leading global tourism destination and a wonderful place to visit and play golf."
Campbell studied at the University of Dundee before working in healthcare for a number of years and moved into hospitality for the greater challenges it presented. He has extensive experience in the sector having worked in a number of hotels before taking on the GM position at the MacDonald Rusacks three years ago. The hotel currently has plans to complete a forty four room extension. Campbell, a resident of Dundee, is married to wife Judy with a young son Hamish.
Outgoing President, Ray Pead, commented: "I've thoroughly enjoyed my tenure in the post and I'm confident that in handing over to Kristian the association will be in safe hands and will drive a number of initiatives forward to benefit the association's members and the local tourism sector. He has tremendous experience in the hospitality trade and is fully aware of the challenges affecting our members and also the business opportunities within the sector.”
The St Andrews Hotel and Guest House Association (Stayinstandrews) is an association of over 30 hotels and guesthouses and has been in existence since the 1960s. The primary focus of the association is to provide visitors with a high-quality hotel and guesthouse accommodation offering and to also help promote St. Andrews as leading global tourism destination.
